Our Citizen Stewards Program is 25 years old—more than 700 citizen scientists have helped us collect hundreds of thousands of data points on the health of Casco Bay. This Silver Anniversary milestone coincides with Peter Milholland stepping down as our Volunteer Coordinator. Peter has decided to leave Friends of Casco Bay after 22 years, to start his own ecotourism business here on the Bay.

There are two ways you can help us celebrate the role volunteers play in keeping Casco Bay blue as we recognize Peter’s service to our organization:

1. Attend Our Silver Anniversary Event
We will raise a toast to the volunteers who have helped protect the health of the Bay over the past 25 years and give you the opportunity to wish Peter good luck in his new endeavor.

2. Make a donation in honor of Peter Milholland’s 22 years of service
Your donation in honor of Peter will be used to support our monitoring efforts and volunteer activities. Your gift—separate from your annual membership donation—will be listed in a special section of our annual Report to the Community. Make a donation here or send a check to Friends of Casco Bay, 43 Slocum Drive, South Portland, ME 04106.

Thank you for working with us to keep Casco Bay blue. Over the past quarter century, volunteerism, community engagement, and your support have all helped make the health of Casco Bay a priority in our region. We hope to see you on Tuesday, May 23rd.
