Celebrate 25 Years of Volunteers Protecting Casco Bay!

Posted on Jan 28, 2014

One in four Americans volunteers for an organization. One in every three Mainers does.

We’ve been told that Friends of Casco Bay celebrates and appreciates its volunteers more than anyone. Come find out why. Bring a friend or make a new one at our 2014 Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on Tuesday, January 28, 5:30 to 8 p.m. at USM’s Abromson Center, 88 Bedford Street, Portland (snow date:Wednesday, Jan. 29). Refreshments and cash bar. Everyone is welcome, and no scientific experience is necessary!

Friends of Casco Bay could not succeed without our valued volunteers. You can donate a few hours helping to clean up a beach, stencil storm drains, or stuff envelopes for fundraising. Or you may want to devote several Saturdays a year as aCitizen Scientist trained to collect critical data on the health of Casco Bay.

What do volunteers get back? You meet like-minded people, learn new skills, feel fulfilled, and have fun while you make a difference in the health of Casco Bay.
