Two Ways You Can Celebrate Joe

Posted on Dec 3, 2014

We invite you to celebrate all Casco Baykeeper Joe Payne has done for our coastal waters.

Two ways you can celebrate Joe:

  1. Attend Joe’s retirement party on Wednesday, January 21st, 2015, 5 – 8 p.m. at DiMillo’s Restaurant

Join us to toast Joe’s accomplishments and wish him a happy retirement. We are hosting his retirement party as a community-based tribute to his 24-year legacy with Friends of Casco Bay. He has served as the eyes, ears, and voice of Casco Bay since 1991, he was the 7th Waterkeeper in the nation, and he was one of the founders of the international movement Waterkeeper® Alliance. RSVP appreciated but not required. RSVP by calling (207) 799-8574, or emailing Sarah Lyman, slyman [at] cascobay [dot] org.

  1. Make a donation to The Emeritus Fund and your gift will be DOUBLED!

Rather than charging an admission fee to attend the retirement party, we ask you to consider making a donation to The Emeritus Fund. Your gift—separate from your annual membership donations—will honor Joe’s legacy. The Fund will be used to strengthen our organization’s advocacy efforts on behalf of Casco Bay, along with related staff development activities in our annual operating plans. Every dollar you donate will be doubled, as a generous donor has offered a $50,000 match to the Fund.

Thank you for helping to make Joe’s tenure with us successful. Together, with this community, over the past quarter-century, we have improved the health of Casco Bay while building a strong organization dedicated to continuing this important work.

We hope to see you on Wednesday, January 21st!
