A Changing Casco Bay, a short course for educators of grades 3-8, with classroom activities on coastal ecosystems and the local impact of climate change
Two Wednesdays: November 2 & 16, 4:30-8 p.m.
This course will help you explain what is happening here and now, both in our coastal waters and to the creatures that depend on a healthy Casco Bay. We will use hands-on activities, books, real data, and background readings to examine the impacts on our coastal communities from warming waters, rising sea levels, and the changing chemistry of our Bay. We will explore everyday actions that can help slow climate change, empowering students to make a positive difference in their community. Offered through Southern Maine Community College and Friends of Casco Bay. Geared to educators of grades 3-8, but open to all.
Cost: $60 includes Casco Bay Curriculum, related children’s books, and .7 CEU
