Embark on adventure with Friends of Casco Bay at the Seventh Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Saturday, November 8th, at Abromson Auditorium on the University of Southern Maine’s Portland campus.
Join explorers, scientists, and thrill seekers as they rappel down waterfalls in British Columbia, surf winter waves along the Norwegian coast, recreate an expedition to the source of the Nile, and search for rare amphibians in a South American rain forest.
In addition to exotic places and creatures, the Film Festival will feature a Maine-made animated film. They’re mean, they’re green, and they are invading a shoreline near you—The Attack of the Green Crabs.
Tickets may be purchased online in advance for $25 at cascobay.org or at the door for $30. Doors open at 4 PM; films start at 4:45 PM. Last year, tickets sold out nearly a week before the event, so buy early!
This event, to benefit Friends of Casco Bay, features 9 environmental and adventure films, from humorous shorts to award-winning documentaries. Free popcorn and other snacks, a cash bar, and a raffle round out the evening.
Lead sponsors are 98.9 WCLZ, TD Bank, Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, Oakhurst Dairy, and Woodard & Curran, Inc. Since 1989, Friends of Casco Bay has been working to improve and protect the environmental health of Casco Bay through advocacy, research, education, and collaborative partnerships.
