Honoring our Volunteers

Posted on May 20, 2012

Nowadays, how many people work for 20 years at the same job, especially if they aren’t getting paid to do it? Andy Bertocci of Yarmouth has done just that. He is the first person to complete 20 years of volunteer water quality monitoring for Friends of Casco Bay. He started sampling at Princes Point in Yarmouth in 1992. Later, he was joined by his daughter Maggie, who is now a sophomore at North Yarmouth Academy.

Other volunteer milestones of note include: Ed Benedikt and Rick Meisenbach for ten years of water quality monitoring; JB Kavaliauskas, Tom Brudzinski, Jan Brudzinski, Jo McCartan, Hugh Huleatt, Deborah McCoy, Russ Pinizzotto, and Katie Rawls for five years of water quality monitoring; and Kathryn Reid for ten years of board service.
