World Affairs on Casco Bay

Posted on May 27, 2014

On April 29th, a marine scientist from Bahrain, an investigative reporter from India, a wildlife park manager from Ghana, and the director of a Russian island biological station took to the waters of Casco Bay with Casco Baykeeper Joe Payne. They were eager to see how we protect and study our Bay.
At the invitation of the World Affairs Council of Maine, Friends of Casco Bay staff met with nine up-and-coming environmental leaders from around the world to exchange ideas about environmental protection and biodiversity conservation. Joe, a co-founder of WATERKEEPER ALLIANCE®, urged them to consider starting Waterkeeper programs in their own countries.
